Seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination systems integrating DuPont FilmTec™ SW30HR membranes produce drinking water from seawater at optimised operating cost and energy consumption. System design encompasses UF pre-filtration, CO₂ degassing, high-pressure pumps, RO membrane modules, and energy recovery devices (ERD) to maximise overall plant efficiency.
System specifications:
- FilmTec™ SW30HR-380 membrane: 99.82% salt rejection; 25 LMH flux; operating pressure 55–70 bar
- Energy Recovery Device (ERD): Reduces energy consumption to 2.5–4 kWh/m³
- Pre-treatment: Inge™ UF (0.02 µm pore) + activated carbon dechlorination
- Water recovery: 40–50% (standard SWRO); optimised to feed seawater quality
- Capacity: 100 m³/day to 500,000 m³/day
